Guided Audio Practice Tracks™

The following Practice Tracks are designed to do two things:

• Test your note recognition proficiency
• Get you comfortable with finding notes while keeping time and hearing a chord progression being played.

That’s it.

The chord progressions are simple, and they cover all 12 Keys.

The PDFs that accompany the Guided Audio Practice Tracks are laid out in the following manner:

*Each chord progression has six rows of notes below it. And each row is slightly different than the previous row.

*Each row represents one of the 6 strings. This means all of the notes in row 1 correspond to the 1st string. Row 2 corresponds to the 2nd string, and so on.

(You’ll hear me explain this in the first recording.)

Recommended:

• Start with each row of notes being played on a single string.
• Play each note and let it ring for the full 4 beats, while each chord is also played for 4 beats

Also Recommended:

• As soon as you’ve picked the note immediately begin looking at what the next note is in the row. (This will get you comfortable thinking ahead, anticipating what comes next. This is important because this is what happens when you’re soloing or playing a new chord progression.)

ADVANCED

• Play each note and let it ring for the full 4 beats, BUT play them as you move across the strings.
• Ex. – 1st note in the row on the High E string, 2nd note on the B string.
